Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, or CS:GO for short, is a multiplayer first-person shooter developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment. The fourth game in the Counter Strike series was released for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. Since its release, CS:GO has often topped the Steam charts for most concurrent players. In this game, two teams, the Terrorists or Counter-Terrorists compete to complete objectives and eliminate their opponents. There are nine main game modes: Competitive, Casual, Deathmatch, Arms Race, Demolition, Wingman, Flying Scoutsman, Danger Zone, and Weapons Course. The competitive mode pits two teams of five players against each other in matches of 15 to 45 minutes. Valve changed the game’s business model in 2018 to be free-to-play and introduced a new battle royale game mode: Danger Zone.
